A Vision Rooted in Guidance
This 10-year comprehensive development plan for the San Francisco Muslim Community Center (SFMCC) was created by the late Imam Abu Qadir Al-Amin (RA), a devoted student of the late Imam Warith Deen Mohammed (RA). The plan reflects the unique vision of Imam Abu Qadir Al-Amin, specifically tailored to the needs of the SFMCC, while being deeply inspired by the wisdom and universal teachings of Imam Warith Deen Mohammed.
Imam Warith Deen Mohammed dedicated his life to following the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), whose guidance remains the foundation for billions of Muslims worldwide. as a proud IWDM community masjid, the SFMCC stands among hundreds of similar communities who model their work on the values and principles illuminated through Imam Warith Deen Mohammed's legacy of understanding the Qur'an and the Sunnah. His teachings provide a framework for reconnecting with the natural human excellence (fitrah), fostering unity and justice, and uplifting humanity. This plan not only honors Imam Abu Qadir Al-Amin's innovative leadership but also celebrates the lasting influence of Imam Warith Deen Mohammed on the vision for a vibrant and thriving community.
Together, guided by this legacy, the SFMCC seeks to fulfill its mission of building a community of faith, service, and justice that exemplifies the divine mandate of khalifa (trusteeship) on earth.
Phase One (Years 1-5): Laying the Foundation for Growth
Imam Abu Qadir Al-Amin envisioned this phase as the groundwork for the community's progress. Years 2-3: Establish Core Pillars

Community Assessment (Year 1)
Reflecting on Transformation Inspired by Faith This phase begins with introspection and consultation (shura), echoing Imam Warith Deen Mohammed's call to know oneself before embarking on any societal change. Following the legacy of those who exemplify the Prophetic methodology, Imam Abu Qadir Al-Amin designed this plan to foster vibrant transformation, beginning with an in-depth understanding of the community's dynamics.
Identifying Needs and Resources
Through focus groups, surveys, and direct community engagement with youth, elders, families, and individuals, SFMCC will gather valuable insights to create a comprehensive picture of strengths, challenges, and opportunities. This inclusive approach ensures that the development plan reflects the voices of the entire community.
